About Team Grella

The Kita Center's Mission is: Preventing suicide by building intentional environments to foster connections and a lifelong engagement with mental wellness. 

The flagship program of the Kita Center is Camp Kita hosts campers from around the country for a bereavement program for children who have lost a loved-one to suicide. These children enjoy all of the quintessential summer-camp experiences, swimming, sports, arts and crafts, but also participate in peer-group support sessions led by trained grief professionals to have meaningful and safe conversations about their grief and learn healthy coping skills. 

In 2026 Camp Kita will officially set our roots down on our new property in Acton, Maine, on Loon Pond. This transition will allow us to grow our program, offerings, and mission. your donation helps to make this transition possible and allow us to expand our population and mission.
